Simply my Favorite Pod
Jun 26
Not sure what all the recent review hate is about I think Shane’s pod has on improved over time. I find Shane to be great interviewer and super easy to listen to which gets coupled nicely with the right guest. Not every episode is my topic of choice, I dont find interest in every guest but geez when is that ever the case with anything? My only wish is that episode releases were on more consistent schedule.
Dating myths
Mar 18
I saw this podcast come up in my feed . It caught my attention as I am also going thru the online / dating scene . I appreciate the insight from Logan on all aspects of dating. I really respect the openness which Shane displayed with his own personal situation. It resonated very much with me . Thanks to the both of you.
Please stop saying “let’s double click on that”

I was a fan but I can’t take the risk at hearing the cringy corporate jargon in my free time.. taking a break
Used to be good, now weirdly annoying
May 4
While this podcast used to be pretty good, recent efforts to ramp up the auditory appeal are try-hard and annoying. This is especially prominent in the Outliers series, where Shane’s overwhelming effort to sound lively is exhausting and too full of effort for his natural range. Also, anytime the guest has a psychology background, the episode is basically, “ listen to Shane get free therapy about all his and only his problems” which is awkward and boring.
Another tech-bro
Apr 17
Shane Parrish is another tech-bro who thinks he has all the answers for all of us. He says it's time to "listen and learn" but he really means "listen and admire me for smart questions my team has written for me". He truly is a lost soul who wishes to be a) best dad, b) best tech entepreneur with a six-pack, c) Warren Buffett/Charlie Munger, d) stoic sage. The podcast is a fascinating collection of him cozying up to his guests from those four categories. Listen if you want a deep insight into the inner turmoils of a man who wants to be all that but knows that he will never be any of those. Newsflash, no-one can be all of that, and if you think and try to be all of that, you will look like a Shane.
good until
Apr 14
I listened to this podcast for years. Some excellent interviews! But this political posture now with interviewing a single candidate just weeks before an election is so not cool. Reeks a bit of American tactics, and requires unfollowing the show.
When did this get political?
Apr 13
No thanks - I didn’t subscribe for far-right propaganda from the Trump wannabe, Poilievre. There’s been a subtle rightward shift in the podcast guests and FS newsletter lately but this is really a mask off moment. Such a disappointment that nothing can be apolitical any longer. You’ve lost a loyal reader and listener.
Mediocre interview #217
Mar 24
Shane Parrish fails to do his job as an interviewer on this one. In one breath, Josh Wolfe says DOGE’s work is “virtuous”. In the next, he extols the value of basic research and the importance of government funding. Shane never confronts the incongruity, never asks his interviewee to reconcile these opinions. Too many of the episodes are wishy-washy chats between guys who all seem to be members of the same club, with no real journalistic skills.
Did they use AI to help for the recent episode? (#214)
Feb 15
overall, been loving the podcast for years. however, the recent new series that started with book reviews (episode 214) really made me question things. a lot of the words and sentence structure felt a bit like it was ‘assisted’ in being written and I wasn’t able to finish the episode. Many of the sentences had similar structures to what i’ve been hearing from ai assisted content and didn’t feel much like typical episodes. Just curious what others think.
Book writing masterclass

Loved your conversation with Charlie Hoehn. I felt like I was listening to a masterclass on how to write and market a book. Charlie provided tremendous value they anyone who is an author or who aspires to be an author can use.
